Where you will work

BAUHAUS is (more than) a hardware chain with stores throughout Europe. The group’s annual turnover is approximately EUR 7Bn. BAUHAUS opened its first NL store in 2015. Since then, BAUHAUS opened stores in Groningen, Hengelo, Venlo and Den Hoorn and aims to expand in the near future. The Dutch headquarters are located in Bunnik. What you will do

As BAUHAUS’ Finance Manager you are responsible for managing 8-10 colleagues. The finance team takes care of the financial administration and reporting of all Dutch BAUHAUS entities, the VAT and CIT reporting and payroll services all (appr 500) employees in the Netherlands. For the near future, the company’s focus will be on the optimization and automation of financial processes. As such, a pro-active self-starting mentality is required. The international BAUHAUS organization offers a lot of structure, know-how and opportunities to develop. Various projects such as the planned implementation of SAP S4/HANA involve international cooperation and teamwork.
You will report directly to the Dutch CEO and functionally to the Group CFO. With your team you provide clear (management) reports. In this varied role you get the opportunity to expand your skills and to grow into the role of CFO of Bauhaus the Netherlands.

The role entails:

  • Managing a team of 8-10 fte’s
  • Bookkeeping of the Dutch stores, the real estate entity and the Office Management team (AP/AR, assets, rebates, etc.)
  • Preparing the audit files and communication with the external auditor
  • Reporting of VAT and CIT returns
  • Payroll services for all 468 Dutch employees
  • Cashflow management
  • Preparing monthly reports for internal and external purposes
  • Development of process improvements
  • Monthly closings
  • Analysis of business requirements and providing recommendations

What you bring

  • You are an experienced Finance professional with:
  • A University or University of Applied Sciences degree in Business Economics or similar
  • 6-8 years of similar experience, including experience as team manager
  • Some knowledge of Dutch taxes
  • Project management skills
  • Experience with SAP

  • You have good communication and presentation skills
  • You are fluent in English, knowledge of the German language is an advantage
